Twenty years of shipping machine intelligence
Machine intelligence runs through every era of this archive. Sproutling predicted infant sleep in 2013. Lumeo made computer vision a drag-and-drop tool. At Seceda Studios the thread continues with Aristotle, a screenplay analysis engine, and Mensch, a research assistant for film-financing incentives.
Now we’re in the AI bubble proper, and the economics have inverted. The model is no longer the moat. Anyone can rent frontier intelligence for the price of lunch.
Twenty years of this work leaves me with one conviction: find the tedious judgment call inside a real workflow, automate most of it, and let story and brand carry the product to the people who need it. The teams that win this bubble won’t have the best models. They’ll have the best reasons for anyone to care.
