Somewhere around 2019, Rust stopped being a curiosity and became the way I think. My GitHub bio has read “Rust’ing away.” ever since.

The attraction isn’t fashion. After two decades of production incidents, Rust is the first language where the cheap path and the correct path are the same path. No GC pauses on hot loops. No null surprises at 3 a.m. Refactoring big systems without fear.

It’s also an economic position. Efficient binaries on bare metal are how BlockJoy undercuts cloud pricing, and how my self-hosted projects stay self-hosted. This website is one Rust binary serving everything you’re looking at, game included.
